Warframe Goes Cross-Platform After a Long Wait

Tenno Across All Platforms Rejoice

The world’s most premier alien ninja action RPG is finally going cross platform. That’s right, today  Digital Extremes is happy to announce that their action RPG, Warframe, is connecting its players on all platforms. Following close behind the “Lua’s Prey” update, the cross-platform seeks to unite players across the Origin System. A press release provides more details on the cross-platform update. Additionally, the release also gives insights from Sheldon Carter, chief operating officer at Digital Extremes.

Warframe

“Warframe will always be a game best played and enjoyed with friends. That’s why launching Cross Platform Play is such an incredible moment for us.” Says Carter in the release. “Together with our partners, we have broken down the walls that have prevented our players from experiencing the thrill of Warframe as one united community.”

Importantly, the cross platform feature is up to players. Toggling the feature on and off is always an option. Of course, whe nthe feature is active, a symbol will appear near the player’s name. This will give them access to several cross-platform features. For instance, they will be able to join public matchmaking, go raiding, and more. Additionally, players with the same name will be keeping their username. Instead, a four digit code will be attaching to a player’s name that will allow them to add friends on differing platforms.

Warframe is currently available on PC and the PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch family of consoles. For more information on the cross-platform update, visit the guide. So, are you happy to see Warframe go cross-play? Will you be teaming up with your friends across systems?
