Time to battle some bad guys. Or at least get a look at how to do it. Today SEGA is happy to unveil the combat trailer for their action adventure game, Sonic Frontiers. The trailer gives players their first real glimpse at how Sonic will take on all manner of threats in the Starfall islands. Additionally, the trailer provides more information about the new depth of Sonic Frontiers’ combat.Â
Sonic Frontiers looks to innovate the way Sonic fights. From new movesets, upgrades and more, this is Sonic like never before. Of course, the game uses Sonic’s speed as a staple of its combat. Players will be able to use attacks at insanely fast speeds that erupt into devastating combos. Additionally, players can now look forward to a whole skill tree that Sonic can use to gain new abilities and upgrade existing ones. Furthermore, the skill tree incentivizes players to fight baddies. As players defeat enemies, they will collect skill shards. Collect enough pieces, and you will be able to gain a new skill. It’s simple, effective, and aims to maximize the potential of combat. In addition to enemies, players can also collect skill pieces from hidden locations around the islands. So exploration is always important.Â
Of course, players can get a deeper look at all of these concepts in the new trailer. As well, the trailer shows off the gameplay footage of some of the combat players can expect.Â
Sonic Frontiers is releasing on November 8th, 2022. It will launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, the Nintendo Switch and PC. It will cost €59.99 at launch. What do you think about Sonic Frontiers’ combat?Â
