Time to Bioengineer The Next Generation
Do you ever wish you could’ve had traits chosen for you before you were born? How about as you grew up? What if you could be faster, stronger, smarter or anything else you want? Well, Rimworld has some good news for you. Today Ludeon Studios is happy to announce the third expansion for their sci-fi colony sim, Rimworld.Â
The expansion, titled Biotech, introduces a whole lot of new content to the game. Importantly, it invites players to experiment with making families. And then bioengineering them to “perfection”. Would you prefer a natural or technologically influenced pregnancy? Good news, those are both options for your colonists. Of course, babies make people happy but they are also a lot of work. Players will need to ensure that the babies are safe, cared for, and given all the love and attention they deserve.Â
However, babies aren’t the only thing players can look forward to with this expansion. Far from it. For instance, players can control semi-sentient machines and play with genetic modifications and fight or ally with xenohuman factions. Additionally, players can look forward to exploring the dark secrets of the blood-drinkers. Of course, creating your own mechanoids and assigning them to jobs around your colony will give your people a lot more time to focus on themselves and their families. You can even create combat mechanoids to make sure your colonists are perfectly protected from xenohuman threats.
Currently, Rimworld: Biotech is available for wish list on Steam. It will be releasing at some point in October. So, are you ready to dive into the world of bioengineering? What will you do?Â
