A new Nintendo Direct video made many exciting announcements. One such announcement is the reveal of the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel. Titled Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the game is arriving to Nintendo Switch in 2023, on May 12th. Though only limited information is available about the game at the moment, the Nintendo Direct video gave players a little bit of context for the awaited sequel.
Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom reintroduces players to Hyrule. Of course, this is the same Hyrule they grew to love in Breath of the Wild. However, this time the world is even larger. In addition to the vast lands of Hyrule, players will also explore the sky. Tears of the Kingdom will invite players to enter a sky world above Hyrule and explore a whole new world. Yet, that isn’t all. The Hyrule that everyone knows is also expanding, introducing new places to discover and more to do on Link’s endless adventure.Â
