Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord Finally Gets Full Release
Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord is finally leaving Early Access. TaleWorlds has made the official announcement at the recent Gamescom event. Devs announced the full release date for the game alongside a fresh new trailer.
Devs first announced the game in 2012. They released it into Early Access in March of 2020. Now, they have announced that they are fully launching it to the gaming public on October 25th.
Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord players may notice that nothing much is different between the two versions. However, some fans feel a bit strange to finally have the game officially out instead of living in a space between announcement and full release.
Even though Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord will no longer be in Early Access, devs assure fans that this is not “the end of the road” for the game. They promised that they will continue to give it “updates in the months to come.” However, fans may want to manage their expectations a little bit. These updates may be fewer in number and smaller in scope than the ones it got during its Early Access tenure.
Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord will hit consoles at the same time that it leaves Early Access. It is also worth noting that devs reportedly found some “synergies” that they did not expect between the PC and console versions of the game. Fans are speculating that they were referring to development shortcuts. This has fans in a frenzy due to the possibility that crossplay may be available in the future.
Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord is actually not the biggest announcement to come out of Gamescom. However, it does put an end to a long and winding saga that started 10 years ago.
