Hogwarts Legacy Has Been Delayed Once Again Into Early 2023

Hogwarts Legacy was first announced in 2020. Since then, fans have been highly anticipating the release of the title set in the Harry Potter universe. However, since its teaser trailer, there has been little content unveiled besides an official gameplay reveal during Sony’s State of Play. Moreover, the game has been delayed several times. Today, the developers have once again announced a delay for the game’s release date. It will now release on February 23rd, 2023 on PC, Xbox and PlayStation. The developers will confirm a Switch release date sometime in the future.

Via its official Twitter, the developers stated, “Hogwarts Legacy will launch on February 10, 2023 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. The Nintendo Switch launch date will be revealed soon. The team is excited for you to play, but we need a little more time to deliver the best possible game experience.” Therefore, it is clear that the developers require time to work on the time and deliver the best product possible. Furthermore, in an industry filled with crunch time, this may be better for the mental and physical health of their developers.

Unfortunately, over the past few weeks, there have been various announcements concerning delays to video game releases. Recently, video game developers announced delays for titles such as Blazing Strike, Nightingale, and Marvel’s Midnight Suns amongst many others. However, fans understand the delays due to the pandemic’s impact on working conditions and the fact that a better product in the end is worth the wait!
