World of Warcraft Is Getting a Reworked Auction House
World of Warcraft’s auction house will have some changes in the 9.2.7 update, making tweaks to the way players can spend WoW Gold. According to Blizzard, the feature will be region-wide for commodities once they roll out the update.
“Auction houses across all realms on a given region will now share commodity listings—gems, herbs, flasks, consumables, etc.,” devs wrote. “Items that are not commodities like armor and weapons will continue to be realm-specific.”
This new system is currently being tested in World of Warcraft’s public test realm. As it stands at the moment, each of the servers will have its own economy. With that said, players will see some massive price fluctuations between busier servers and those that have a much lesser population. This means that prices are going to be much higher in smaller realms because there are not as much players crafting and farming and far less demand.
Following the region-wide implementation, World of Warcraft players who are relatively struggling with the prices of pots, herbs, flasks, and other consumables will find this new feature very helpful.
“The auction house you know and use today should look and feel exactly the same,” devs reassured fans. “It will just have way more buyers and sellers available to you for commodities.”
The changes are still in their testing phase. With that said, World of Warcraft devs want fans to join the public test realm to give them a try. “We would love for players to hop on the PTR, copy over their characters and help us test the auction house across the entire PTR region,” they added. “We might schedule a specific time in a few weeks for everyone to hop on at the same time to help stress it.”
There will also be a new chat channel for advertising boosts. Players usually flood the game’s already existing trade channel with advertisements for boosts for raids and dungeons. Basically, it has become pretty unusable for anything else, especially for busier servers. With the new channel, World of Warcraft players can actually use the trade channel for what it is intended for—buying and selling stuff.
