Today CD PROJEKT RED is happy to announce the release of Gwent: Rogue Mage. The game is the first single player expansion for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game. Gwent: Rogue Mage brings players to the Continent hundreds of years before the events of The Witcher. Players will follow in the footsteps of an ambitious mage, Alzur, and his companion, Lily. Importantly Rogue Mage exists in a time when monsters are running rampant across the continent thrust into the world by the Conjunction of Spheres. Alzur and Lily embark on a quest to create a living weapon and save humankind from the endless hordes once and for all.Â
The new expansion aims to combine the classic Gwent gameplay with roguelike and further strategy elements. Players will battle across a dangerous land, facing legendary monsters for ingredients to fuel their experiments. With an arsenal of new cards to experiment with, and upgrade, players will learn to use devastating combos, and card types to continue their adventure. Of course, players can get a glimpse of what is to come from the launch trailer. Importantly, Rogue Mage is being distributed separately from Gwent: The Witcher Card Game as it is a single-player experience.Â
