God of War: Ragnarok Dev Says Game Is Not Delayed

God of War: Ragnarok Is Not Delayed, Says Dev

God of War: Ragnarok’s official launch date is still a hot topic to date. It has been an ongoing debate among fans whether or not devs will manage to meet its scheduled 2022 release window. Multiple fans have started to become antsy. Game Producer Cory Barlog has taken to social media to tell everyone to have some patience.

“If it were up to me I would share all the information when I know about it—but it is not up to me,” Barlog wrote. “So please be patient.”

Barlog’s reassurance was not enough to satiate many God of War: Ragnarok fans. One fan called him out to just admit that they delayed the game’s release. However, Barlog insisted that it will be out before this year ends.

Why won’t you all just go on and tell us that Ragnarok is delayed so that we can move on and plan the rest of the year seriously?” the fan asked.

Because it is not,” Barlog responded. “We are not MacReady.” This is in line with what he previously told the God of War: Ragnarok community back in April.

There is so much going on right now that I just wish that I can share it with you,” he said at the time. “But I guarantee you, the very second that we have something that we are ready to share, we are going to share it.”

The game suffered from an internal day. Apparently, the actor for Kratos, Christopher Judge, had to go through an extensive surgery. Instead of getting another actor to take his place, developer Santa Monica decided to wait until he recovered. “I promise things will be shared at the earliest moment they can be,” Barlog continued.

God of War: Ragnarok is Sony’s next major PS5 exclusive. It will continue the lore surrounding Kratos and Atreus’ story in their search for the Norse God of War Tyr. They will come into conflict with Thor, the God of Thunder himself.
