Battlefield 2042 Devs Are Not Giving Up on the Game
Battlefield 2042 devs have “no time for anything else.” This is according to DICE General Manager Rebecka Coutaz. The studio went through an upheaval and a change in leadership. She admits that their “players and community were disappointed.” However, Coutaz reveals that “things are better now.”
“The launch of Battlefield 2042 was not as expected,” Coutaz admitted. “We have focused on the health of the game and we are fixing and improving it.”
The studio is celebrating its 30th year anniversary. Moreover, they are also celebrating their 20 years on the Battlefield franchise. “We have players who have been with us for 20 years,” she added. “And to disappoint them, it is really hard on us.”
With that said, they plan to keep fixing Battlefield 2042 until they regain the trust and satisfaction of their community. “Each patch we have a little win,” she continued. “That is important for our team because they were disappointed.”
It is no secret that Battlefield 2042 received a lot of negative feedback at launch. Fortunately for fans who have not lost hope for the franchise, devs are planning to pull the game out of the gutter. This is contrary to earlier reports that devs have decided to move on and drop the franchise all together.
“We could not do that to our players and we could not do that to ourselves,” Coutaz added. “We owe it to our players.”
It has come to light that DICE’s ultimate goal is to make the development team “really proud about Battlefield 2042.” “We want DICE to be the number one spot for first-person shooter games in Europe and one of the powerhouses in the world—it is a fabulous team,” she continued. “We are going to make magic together.”
