Sloclap Breaks Down the New Sifu Difficulties in Upcoming Update

From Student to Master

The good people at Sloclap launched Sifu with only one difficulty, but early next month, a new update will change that. Some games have a divided fanbase when it comes to difficulty. A lot of games have multiple difficulty options. Some have just one and out of those games, some of them might be very challenging. That might be the point of those games, but should players miss out on the experience just because the game is too hard?

Whether you are in the camp of “make it easier” or “git gud”, there is something for you. The standard difficulty in Sifu will be called Disciple and nothing will be changed. There will be an easier difficulty called Student and a harder mode called Master. Sloclap released a short trailer laying out what is different about Student and Master.

Sifu

In Student, enemies will be noticeably easier. They will be less aggressive, letting players focus on one foe at a time. Enemies will also have less health. Sifu’s aging system will also be much more forgiving. While failure on Disciple may set you back a couple of years, dying on Student will only age you one year at a time.

On Master, as you might expect, enemies will be more aggressive. Groups will attack in more coordinated ways and force players to defend against multiple attackers. Bosses will also have new tricks up their sleeves. If you have figured out their attack patterns, get ready to throw all that out the window. Bosses will have new attack patterns for you to learn. There will be no change to the aging system on Master, as far as I can tell.

The new difficulty update will come out on May 3rd. Sifu is available on PC, PS4, and PS5.
