Flying Furries! – Horgihugh and Friends Flies to Nintendo Switch

Dogfighting

A combination of cuddly friends and aerial combat is coming to Nintendo Switch. Horgihugh and Friends is a 2D horizontal shoot ’em up with cats and dogs flying planes. The game first came out on PC in 2019, but Nintendo Switch players will be able to get in on the arcade action.

The trailer for Horgihugh and Friends uses the Japanese gameplay footage, so it is a little tough to nail down the specifics. However, the basic concepts are there; fly around, shoot everything, avoid bullets. There are also upgrades and more powerful weapons to purchase, similar to Fantasy Zone.

There is also a community-building and restoration feature. As you progress through the game, you will have opportunities to help your furry friends rebuild their homes. Doing so will give you bonuses and power-ups in combat. It also appears that players can call in an AI companion that mirrors player movements. The AI ship can be equipped with alternative weapons for various situations.

There are 6 different biomes and stages to progress through, as well as over a dozen boss battles. The game also has two difficulty settings for players to explore. Horgihugh and Friends’ Nintendo Switch port was announced by publisher Aksys Games during the New Game Plus Expo last week.

Horgihugh and Friends is out now on PC and will be coming to Nintendo Switch on June 16th.
