Time to strap on the diving suit and head underwater. Get ready for a deep-dive. Today Bohemia Interactive announced a content update for their free-to-play exploration game, Ylands, called Ocean Odysseys. The content update provides players with a whole new underwater world to explore. In addition to the release of the Ocean Odysseys update came a trailer. The trailer gives players a glimpse at just what is awaiting them under the waves.
Ylands is a low-poly exploration game that revolves around classic survival elements. Players will craft, build bases, sail, fight to survive, and travel to beautiful locations. There is always more to discover with Ylands and more to build. The Ocean Odysseys update takes a previously barren landscape of Ylands, underwater, and transforms it. In addition to allowing more underwater exploration the update also brings new biomes like kelp forests. The update also features five types of sharks, multiple types of fish, and other aquatic life. Furthermore, ships can now suffer damage and sink, there is now a depth meter, fuel meter, and more.
“For a long time, the seas in Ylands have offered bare, empty depths with an uninteresting seabed,” Says Ales Ulm, Ylands Project Lead in a Steam Blog Post, “This update changes that in a big way. Players will now be able to look for resources and enjoy gorgeous underwater life, both harmless and dangerous while exploring new depths.”
In addition to the launch of the update, Ylands also unveiled a trailer. The trailer shows off many features of the update as well as gives players a look at the underwater environment.
