The darkness is upon us, can you shine bright enough to drive it back? Today, Four Eyes Productions announced the release date for their upcoming, shoot-em up roguelike game, The Last Sunshine: Rekindled. A press release about the game provides more details including the features of the game and the plot.Â
The Last Sunshine: Rekindled makes players a star. No, literally you play as one of the last remaining stars holding out against darkness itself. Of course, the game is a roguelike shoot-em up and thus contains elements of roguelike games. Each playthrough will differ depending on your choices made along an expansive skill tree. Additionally, there are multiple characters that you can try out, each with their own skills and traits. These different characters can make sure you can find a playstyle that… lights up your gameplay. As you play you will collect stardust and nebulous fragments to spend between runs in order to unlock new abilities.Â
As the last stars it is up to you to survive the heat death of the universe and hold back the darkness. Through your adventure you will encounter three distinct biomes each with their own challenges. All the while trying to not have your last lights extinguished. Furthermore, the official release date trailer gives players a glimpse at the gameplay, showing off the art style.Â
