Revita, Twin-Stick Roguelike, Climbs Out of Early Access

Climb the Clocktower

If you’re brave enough, you can ascend the mysterious Clocktower. That’s right, Solo developer Benjamin Kiefer’s 2D, twin-stick roguelike game, Revita, is leaving Early Access and heading to launch. A press release about the game provides information about the specific features that make Revita unique. Furthermore an announcement trailer for the Nintendo Switch version of the game gives fans a better look at what’s in store.

Revita places players within the mysterious, procedurally generating, Clocktower. Your goal? Climb it to regain your lost memory. Of course, along the way there will be a plethora of foes and bosses for you to face and deal with as you see fit. Yet, Revita is a roguelike so, if you die, it’s back to square one. But alongside the roguelike genre is the ability to find and use a number of powerups to make runs unique. Additionally, the release claims a near-limitless amount of character builds to experiment with. Also, hats. A lot of hats.

“Revita has been a passion project of mine for over five years now, as it combines twitchy arcade-inspired combat with roguelike mechanics and risky decision making, as you decide what is and isn’t worth trading your HP for.” Says Benjamin Kiefer, developer of Revita.

Kiefer speaks on another element that makes Revita unique. In this adventure gaining power doesn’t cost currency, it costs health. Of course this puts the player in a situation where they need to make critical decisions. This concept, of trading health for power and items, can be seen in the announcement trailer.

Revita is leaving Steam Early access, and arriving on the Nintendo Switch E-shop, April 21st. The game will cost $16.99  So, are you ready to face the challenge of the mysterious Clocktower, and find out who you really are?
