Valheim’s Developers Promise More Adventures Throughout 2022
Iron Gate Studio is an independent video game developer based in Sweden that was formed in 2019. Iron Gate Studio partnered with Coffee Stain Publishing to release Valheim. Since its release, Valheim has been highly praised and exceeded expectations. The game sold over one million copies worldwide in early access. Today, February 2nd, marks the game’s first anniversary. The developers have indicated that they have a lot of events planned for February and some major content coming in the year.
In 2021, the game won Game of the Year by PC Gamer and in the Winter holidays, the team hosted its first building competition. As the competition was so successful, the developers plan to continue to highlight and showcase fan submissions.
In 2022, the Steam Deck is a priority for the developers. With the planned launch in February, Iron Gate wants to ensure that Valheim runs smoothly from the start. Furthermore, besides the Steam Deck, the developers are working on the Mountain Update that was teased in the past. The team is putting the finishing touches, so it may release pretty soon!
Additionally, Iron Gate has been ramping up work on Mistlands, including the core concept and its inhabitants. Thus, the developers have now begun to work on new build pieces, enemies and new mechanics. These new mechanics will be introduced later on and the developers would like to keep it a secret for now.
Interested fans can purchase Valheim today on Steam at a discounted price of $14.99USD as part of the Lunar Year Sale.
