Liberte, Lovecraftian Deckbuilder, Comes to Early Access February 2022

Twisting Streets Of Madness and Shadow

Welcome to the French Revolution, only with unspeakable horrors that will drive you to incomprehensible madness. Developer Superstatic’s upcoming early access deckbuilder, Liberte, transports players to an alternate French Revolution. A France where Lovecraftian horrors from another realm is awaiting you later this month. A press release about the game provides details about the game’s setting and gameplay mechanics.

Liberte Early Access

Liberte places players in a top down roguelike French Revolution. The game is focusing on story and deck building combining roguelike elements to make every venture into the world unique. Players begin the game right in the crux of the action. The new king’s coronation is in shambles after otherworldly creatures erupt into the world. Additionally, as the cataclysmic power of these creatures shatters the world, four factions vie for power amidst what remains.

The game uses fast paced card combat. The press release compares the system to games like Slay the Spire. Additionally, players will need to work out their favorite playstyle and what combos will work the best for that style. All of this while trying to find their place in a world that prides itself on characters who are both morally grey and intriguing.

Yet, you don’t need to traverse this world alone. You can play through over sixty hours of storyline, upon full release of the game, with up to three other players. Also, each player can use a different deck of cards adding more combos to your team to tackle any threat you encounter.

Currently Liberte is set to release on Steam Early Access on February 15th. Additionally, console versions of the game are being planned for a 2023 release. Consoles include Xbox, PlayStation and Switch consoles.
