ANNO: Mutationem Will Launch on March 17th

ANNO: Mutationem Devs Just Revealed the Game’s Official Release Date

ANNO: Mutationem has recently been getting a lot of attention. Developer ThinkingStars has just rolled out a pre-order trailer for their cyberpunk adventure. It was revealed in the preview that fans can get ahold of the title as soon as March 17th.

The indie game from the Beijing-based studio will launch on PC via Steam, PS4, and PS5. Devs revealed the game to the gaming public at PlayStation’s China Hero Project in 2020.

According to the game’s social media account, the pre-order window for PlayStation users is open now. Furthermore, it will also come with a bonus costume for the sword-wielding protagonist Ann Flores. Players will be following her story as she embarks on her mission with her hacker friend Ayane.

As described by the devs, Ann is a “highly skilled combat-trained lone wolf.” Apparently, she has a score to settle with a mega corporation that has information regarding her missing brother. This character certainly has some similarities with Major from the Ghost in the Shell franchise.

The recently revealed ANNO: Mutationem video confirms that it will be a great pixel art callback to other classic cyberpunk noir entries that are present in the gaming market today. It is a colorful eclectic combination of both 2D and 3D animation.

With the game’s official launch a month away, devs have launched a Steam demo for the game to tide fans over until that time. Demo players will have fun exploring within the game as they will be getting different reactions to the protagonist based on her appearance. The game’s main tone is mesmerizingly dark and is pretty much in line with its genre.

According to Publisher Lightning Games, ANNO: Mutationem will be about 12 hours in length. It will feature Japanese, Chinese, and English voiceovers.
