2 Over 2 Watch
It’s been a little over two years since Activision Blizzard announced Overwatch 2 in 2019. We have gone a while without hearing much about the game, other than how nobody likes Bobby Kotick. We currently have no solid release date for the Overwatch sequel, but last we heard, it might not be out until 2023.
Something worth taking a look at has popped up in a recent update. In the Battle.net game launcher, some fans have found something called “Overwatch Demo 2 build 1.50.0.0.93186”. This is not a public build that is available for just anyone though.
Overwatch players may know that there are different clients for different groups. For example, Overwatch League players use a separate client than other players. Developers have their own client, which is where this “Overwatch Demo 2” was found. This does not indicate any timeline of the game’s release or beta, but it’s something.

The original game was released in May 2016 and new heroes have been steadily added until April 2020. It’s looking like there will not be any more new heroes until Overwatch 2 comes out. The only new hero we have been shown is Sojourn, who will launch with the next game. Hopefully, she will be playable in the beta.
There is also of course, the new PvE game mode called Hero Missions. No longer being a multiplayer only game, the Overwatch 2 beta may also include a taste of the campaign against Null Sector. Until then, Overwatch is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
