Point Those Ears Somewhere Else
Season 2 of The Witcher has hit Netflix this past week. The adventures of Geralt, Ciri, Yennefer, and friends continue. Some of the hardcore fans of the show have already binged it and a nice surprise awaited them at the end of the finale. They got a first look at The Witcher: Blood Origin.
Of course, the teaser is now on YouTube, so anyone can watch it at anytime. If you are unfamiliar with the upcoming series, Blood Origin is a prequel to The Witcher. It takes place long before the time of Geralt, when Elves still held a prominent presence on the Continent.
In Blood Origin, we will see the creation of the first Witcher and the events leading up to the Conjunction of the Spheres. The show will star Lenny Henry, who will also be in Amazon’s Lord of the Rings show, as well as Michelle Yeoh, who you may recognize from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and more recently Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The trailer also shows us Sophia Brown and Laurence O’Fuarain teaming up with Yeoh against attacking soldiers.
Blood Origin is part of Netflix’s expansion of The Witcher series, along with the previously released anime movie Nightmare of the Wolf. They also plan to release a “kids and family series”, which is still a mystery. The Witcher: Blood Origin will be premiering on Netflix sometime in 2022.
