A Pixel Adventure Awaits
Enter the world of Mercury Abbey and join in on a suspenseful, mystery novel of a game. Today, Gamera Game announced a crowdfunding campaign for their upcoming game, Mercury Abbey, beginning in January 2022. A press release provides more details, including a link and description of the character trailer released alongside the announcement.Â
The game follows the story of anthropomorphic animals, Uncle Harrod the Wolf and Willie the pup. According to the game’s Steam page, Mercury Abbey embraces the classic cultural elements of old mystery novels. Yet, at the same time, it introduces a whole pixelized animal world to explore and learn about. In addition to the crowdfunding announcement, the game also released a character intro trailer.Â
Narrated by the pup, Willie, the trailer introduces the characters of Mercury Abbey from Willie’s perspective. The trailer also manages to show off the art style, pixelated with distinct character models, and the gameplay. Showing off the characters of Harrod and Willie running around the streets, players get a glimpse of how the game plays and some of the level design. Other elements of the game like action and movement also get shown off in the trailer.Â
Additionally, the producer of Mercury Abbey also worked on Tales of the Neon Sea. Another pixel art indie game, Tales of the Neon Sea, features a similar art style and gameplay to Mercury Abbey.Â
Currently, the game is available to add to wish list on Steam. The game itself is scheduled for a 2022 release. The crowdfunding campaign is beginning in January of 2022.
