Over 8 Hours of Head-Bopping Tunes
For the 25th anniversary of the Persona series, Atlus is releasing a vinyl set of the main series games’ soundtracks. The set costs $400 and contains music from Revelations Persona, Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, Persona 3, Persona 4 and Persona 5.
Atlus partnered with American production company Iam8bit to produce the artwork and manufacture the records. Iam8bit is based in Los Angelos and is selling the set directly from their website. You can buy the set with all of the soundtracks combined or buy them individually. The Persona 1 and 2 Bundle costs $89.99. The Persona 3, Persona 4 and Persona 5 records cost $100 each.
The soundtracks from the series’ 25-year history have been completely remastered for the vinyl release. There are over 8.5 hours of music spread over 15 discs included in the set. Iam8bit posted on their website, “With a whopping 8.5 hours of music, this is truly a journey through genre and time, ranging from Persona 1’s memorable dungeon themes and Persona 2’s head-bopping beats to Persona 3’s unique hip-hop stylings and Persona 4’s familiar retro-pop, crescendoing with Persona 5’s famous acid jazz.”
The artwork featured on the boxes and slipcases is designed to represent the different styles of each soundtrack’s respective game. “Each game’s vinyl discs are housed in their own box, complete with thematic sticker sheets that allow you to personalize your set (Persona is all about personal identity after all), with each box sliding comfortably into an exclusive 25th-anniversary slipcase.” The artwork was created by artist Drew Wise who shared his excitement over the project on Twitter.
Atlus has been busy with the Persona series. On top of the vinyl soundtrack release, they just announced at the Game Awards that a PC and Switch port of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is coming out next year. What else does Atlus have in store for the franchise?
