A New Hisuian Form was Teased for Pokemon: Legends Arceus

Pokémon: Legends Arceus’ Explosive Tease

Pokémon: Legends Arceus is coming out next month, and coming with it is a slew of brand new forms of pokemon. These new forms are called Hisuian forms and the Pokémon Twitter account just teased a new one.

Earlier today, the official Pokémon Twitter account shared a tweet from the Ball Guy (the creepy pokéball mascot from Sword and Shield). He said he dropped all of his pokéballs and needs help picking them up. If you click the link in the tweet, you’ll be taken to the Pokémon: Legends Arceus website. Everything looks the same at first, but if you wait a few seconds, a bunch of Hisuian pokéballs will start falling from the top of the screen. The pokéballs will disappear if you click them, but eventually, one will explode and reset the Pokéballs.

Figured it out yet? The new Hisuian form is undoubtedly for Voltorb. To be more specific, the form is most likely for both Voltorb and its evolution Electrode.

For those who don’t know, Hisui is the new region in Pokémon: Legends Arceus. It’s not exactly new as it takes place in the Sinnoh region long before it was called Sinnoh. And just like in Pokémon Sun and Moon and Pokémon Sword and Shield, the Hisui region will have its own unique forms of pre-existing pokémon called Hisuian forms. Unlike in those games though, any pokémon is eligible to get a new form, not just generation 1 pokémon.

Voltorb getting a Hisuian form is also a really logical choice by Game Freak. Voltorb is based on the modern design of pokéballs. Because Pokémon: Legends Arceus takes place in the past, the pokéballs in the game are wooden and look slightly different. It makes sense to change the pokémon’s design to reflect the new (old?) look. It also means the pokémon will likely be grass type instead of electric type.
