Life is Strange: True Colors Switch ReleaseÂ
Square Enix’s graphic adventure game Life is Strange: True Colors is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch. The digital version will release for the console on December 7 and the physical release on February 25, 2022.
The game has you play as Alex Chen, a woman who possesses psychic abilities revolving around empathy. Chen’s abilities allow her to feel other people’s emotions, a skill she must use to discover the truth about how her brother died.
Life is Strange: True Colors came out on September 7 earlier this year. It is currently available for Windows, Stadia, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It’s the fifth game in the series, but don’t worry if you haven’t played any of the other games. You don’t have to play the previous games in the series to understand the plot of this game. This will be the franchise’s first game on a Nintendo platform.
“We’re incredibly excited to finally offer a Life is Strange experience on the Nintendo Switch, enabling players to enjoy Life is Strange: True Colors at home or on the go,” said Jon Brooke, Co-Head of Studio at Square Enix External Studios. The developers had to rework many aspects of the game to optimize it for the Switch.
The team optimized the game’s visuals by reworking every character model, all foliage across the game and environmental objects too. They also had to rebuild the lighting engine. “This is the most advanced game in the series, so it was important for us to maintain a high standard of visual quality, performance and optimization when bringing the game to a new platform. We’re delighted with how the Switch version turned out, and we can’t wait to expand our wonderful community of players even more with this release,” Brooke continued.
