Chapter Restart*
Guardians of the Galaxy players were treated to a well put together update yesterday that adds quite a few quality of life improvements to the game. These range from graphical features to bug fixes to new UI and gameplay features. One of the more notable additions is the Save Rollback feature.
The Save Rollback features is not the same thing as a Chapter Select or Replay Mission function. It is mainly for players who are experiencing bugs that prevent them from progressing the story. In order to access the Save Rollback option, players must follow very specific instructions, so that they do not accidentally use it improperly.
Using the Save Rollback feature will allow a player to return to the beginning of a desired chapter, BUT the only way to progress passed this point will be to play the game as you normally would; you cannot just jump back to your most recent chapter. You can however avoid this by selecting a new save file for replaying this chapter.
When a player returns to an earlier chapter this way, it will also reset your perks and abilities to what they were the first time you started your desired chapter. Again, this feature is mostly for players who are experiencing trouble progressing the game.
There are other improvements made, such as ray tracing on the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions. The Xbox Series S version also has added an uncapped frame rate option, so that it can surpass the usually 30 fps. The base PS4 version has also improved performance of the game.
Guardians of the Galaxy is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
