Kena: Bridge of Spirits Reveals Photo Mode, New Trailer Ahead of Launch

Ember Lab Has Some Last-Minute Announcements to Make

The story-driven game Kena: Bridge of Spirits is almost here, but Ember Lab has a few last-minute announcements to make before launch day–and it’s making those announcements in the form of a new trailer. PS5 owners will be able to access several exclusive features, including more than 200 Game Help videos and full support for PlayStation Activities.

PS5 owners will also have the option to play in Fidelity Mode, which prioritizes the cinematic experience, or Performance Mode, which prioritizes gameplay. Fidelity Mode is locked at a framerate of 30 fps with native 4k resolution while the PS5 default Performance Mode targets 60 fps and upscaled 4K resolution, allowing you to choose how you’d like to view your playable Pixar movie.

PC players may be happy to hear that Kena: Bridge of Spirits has DirectX 12 support. However, all players will be able to get their hands on the game’s Photo Mode, which will let you pause the action to stage the characters. You can also dress up Kena’s adorable Rot companions in optional hats, if you like. And let’s face it, we all want to see the Rot wearing little hats and smiling at the camera.

“We’re very excited to share the “Cheese!” function in Photo Mode,” shared Hunter Schmidt, Ember Lab’s Animation Director. “When players have set up their perfect photo angle, they’ll have the option to have the characters in the photo say “CHEESE!” and strike a pose. Many characters have multiple poses, so you can snap a great variety of fun shots in the same location. I’m very excited to see what kinds of photos players will capture!”

As Kena: Bridge of Spirits’ release date gets closer, we keep getting more and more reasons to look forward to the game’s launch. Here’s hoping the game lives up to gamers’ expectations.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits will launch on September 21st, 2021, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.
