A New Kena: Bridge of Spirits Release Date Trailer Is Up

The Summer Releases This Summer

A upcoming Indie title Kena: Bridge of Spirits –that was previously announced at the PlayStation 5’s reveal event– has finally received a new release date after being delayed from its expected Q1 2021 release.

A new trailer for the game aired during tonight’s State of Play hosted by PlayStation. The trailer revealed that the game will be releasing this summer, on Aug. 24, 2021.

The trailer also gave us some new information on the game’s story and was filled with some beautiful cinematics, as well as a variety of gameplay footage.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is the first title by Indie studio, Ember Lab. The studio was formed by brothers Josh and Mike Grier who have a strong background in animation, so while the studio may be small –the high quality animation shouldn’t come as a surprise for the developer.

The gameplay footage shows Kena working alongside her nature companions and swimming through the game’s lustrous world. It also highlights some of the game’s combat with Kena using her staff/bow to take on massive monsters over twice her size.

Below is the official description for the game:

“A story-driven action adventure with a stunning visual aesthetic combining exploration with fast-paced combat. Players find and grow a team of charming spirit companions called the Rot, enhancing their abilities and creating new ways to manipulate the environment.”
