The GTA Remastered Trilogy Just Got an Age Rating in Korea
The rumored Grand Theft Auto Remastered Trilogy just got rated on the South Korean games rating board listing it as Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. Although previous reports have stated that Rockstar’s remastered trilogy will be out later this year, more recent claims point to a 2022 release.
When rumors first came out, it was said that the Grand Theft Auto remasters will be using Unreal Engine, in addition to a “mix of new and old graphics.” Although the gaming community is expecting Rockstar to stay true as they could to the franchise’s original titles, these updated remastered versions will seem to sport an entirely new UI.
Just this August, there were multiple reports that the remasters of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and Grand Theft Auto 3 are all in their final stages of development at RockStar Dundee—a studio that was formerly known as Ruffian Games prior to being acquired by Take-Two last October. At the time, it was suggested that Rockstar’s plan was to release the GTA Remastered Trilogy in either October or November of this year for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, Stadia, PC, PS4, and PS5—with reports that the console ports are going to be prioritized.
The Grand Theft Auto franchise is known as one of the gaming industry’s most iconic series. Since the classic titles have been released a long time ago, not very many current-gen and next-gen players were able to experience the game for themselves, pushing them to constantly request for remakes of the classic GTA entries.
Now that the age rating for the Grand Theft Auto Remastered Trilogy has gone public, fans are expecting that an official announcement regarding the much-awaited project is coming near. Unfortunately, there is little to no information about the game from the listing, except for the age rating of “youth not allowed.”
