Blossom Tales 2: The Minotaur Prince Heads to Switch and PC Sometime in Spring 2022
Blossom Tales 2: The Minotaur Prince will officially come to Nintendo Switch and PC sometime in spring of 2022. This game is the sequel to the famous Zelda-like indie game Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King. Castle Pixel, an indie game developer, will be developing the game alongside Playtonic Friends.
Blossom Tales 2: The Minotaur Prince will directly build on the original game’s roots, which, in turn, were hugely influenced by the Zelda universe. The story takes place hundreds of years after the events that transpired in the first game. It will feature more than 15 hours of side quests, caves, mini-dungeons, different choices that will influence how the story continues, many new locales to explore, and a wide variety of abilities and weapons to use.
According to the official Steam page of Blossom Tales 2: The Minotaur Prince, its players will be given the opportunity to enjoy a “story within a story,” as it is told by the main character’s grandfather. “Grandpa’s latest tale takes you on a journey through haunted forests, pirate shores, and other mysterious lands across a vast open world,” the description read.
As seen in the provided screenshots of the upcoming game, Blossom Tales 2: The Minotaur Prince seems to be a love letter to the gaming industry’s retro action RPGs—which, in turn, are pretty much within Playtonic’s wheelhouse.
Blossom Tales 2: The Minotaur Prince will showcase “charming towns, terrible enemies, tricky puzzles, and powerful weapons.” “Think A Link to the Past meets Princess Bride,” the devs pitched. The team behind the upcoming RPG will reportedly marry “fun gameplay with memorable storytelling.”
The franchise’s first installment, which sold more than 100,000 copies, is still currently available on the Nintendo eShop, and fans are expecting for the devs to share more information about Blossom Tales 2: The Minotaur Prince in the near future.
