Away: The Survival Series Takes Us Into Nature In Late September

Away: The Survival Series Will Officially Launch Digitally In Late September

In July, it was confirmed that Away: The Survival Series was bringing immersion into nature to the PlayStation 5 and later, Breaking Walls, its developers, shared thirteen minutes of gameplay that showed off various features of the game. Today, Breaking Walls has confirmed that the nature-documentary inspired narrative game, where players adopt the role of a sugar glider in nature, will launch digitally on PC, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on September 28th. The game will be available physically on 1st October.

In Away: The Survival Series, as a sugar glider, players must navigate the forest, avoid predators and consume prey. The game will offer five to ten hours of gameplay, an orchestral soundtrack by Mike Raznick who worked on BBC’s Life and Planet Earth II and the ability to play as other creatures in the world such as crabs, lizards, beetles and more.

Breaking Walls Co-Founder Laurent Bernier was excited for the project’s release stating, “AWAY has been a passion project of ours for the past few years and we’re so excited to finally be able to share it with the world…“We’re all environmental enthusiasts at Breaking Walls, so we wanted to craft an experience that combines our love for the outdoors and animals with the accessible joys of an exploratory adventure game. AWAY is a unique merging of these separate passions into a singular, cohesive whole. We can’t wait for players to experience it for themselves.”

Fans can access a limited edition of the game for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 via Perp Games in America and Europe. The limited edition will include a digital soundtrack, digital artbook with seventy-five pages of stunning images, a short Augmented Reality Experience, physical postcard and trees will be planted for every copy sold by the Eden Restoration Project. The game is currently available to wishlist on Steam.
