Gabe Newell Described His Experience Using Steam Deck

It’s Already In His Hands

Steam Deck is now the talk of every PC gamer since its announcement. While we have all been waiting for the device’s release this December, Valve CEO Gabe Newell is now going into details about his experience with it playing Dota 2.

In an interview with IGN Gabe confessed that he’s received multiple Steam Decks already, and every time he is sent a new one, he tests it by playing the 2013 multiplayer game Dota 2.

Gabe Newell highlighted how it feels to be using the device, described it as essentially a Mobile PC, which he says should be able to run other software such as the Microsoft Store, and the Epic Games Store.

Newell has also previously expressed his belief that the Steam Deck will in fact be able to run the Oculus Quest VR headset. This means that players will be able to venture into VR Gaming at a new low entry cost.

Worries and concerns are currently surrounding games that require anti-cheat software such as Fortnite and Apex Legends, as anti-cheat software is incompatible with Linux-powered devices such as the Steam Deck.

The Steam Deck is expected to be available for purchase, this December.
