Steam Deck Brings Your Steam Library to an All-In-One Portable PC Gaming Platform

Hardware Designed to Put Real Games in Real Hands

PC gaming giant Steam has taken a step into the console market with the newly-announced Steam Deck, an all-in-one portable PC gaming platform. This handheld gaming PC is powerful enough to run AAA games well, comfortable enough to use for hours, and versatile enough to connect to PC peripherals, larger screens, and all sorts of other PC things.

If you’re worried about how to get your Steam library from your PC to your Steam Deck, don’t worry–your Steam library is already on your Steam Deck. All you have to do is turn it on and log in.

The Steam Deck includes all the Steam features you love, carefully redesigned and resized to fit in your hands. This means Steam Chat, Remote Play, notifications, the entire Steam Store, cloud saves, and the Steam community can all be accessed from your Steam Deck.

This platform also features a new different operating system from the one used on your desktop PC. This new version of SteamOS was built with Steam Deck in mind and is optimized for handheld gaming, and it also comes with Proton, a compatibility layer that allows you to run your games without the developers doing any porting work.

Fans will have the ability to choose between three different storage options: 64GB, 256GB, or 512GB internal storage. The Steam Deck also comes with an official dock that is sold separately.

If you’re interested in getting your hands on this new handheld gaming PC, stay tuned, as it begins shipping on December 2021 to the United States, Canada, the European Union, and the United Kingdom. Reservations will be opened tomorrow on July 16th, 2021, and more regions will be added in 2022.
