PC Gamers Will Soon Gain Access to a Wonderful World of Cute Monsters
Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World has already been released on consoles, where it was warmly received by critics. Now it’s getting ready to make the leap to PC. This horizontal scrolling action RPG is a remarkably faithful remake of the original Monster World IV. Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World will be the second title from Studioartdink Corp’s game publishing brand “G CHOICE” to be launched on PC. The game can now be wishlisted on Steam. Unfortunately, it does require a controller to play, so we recommend fans not try and play with mouse and keyboard. It probably won’t turn out well, which is a real shame, since Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World is an incredibly charming game.
In this game, players take on the role of Asha, a young woman who has left her village to become a warrior. Her quest leads her to the capital city of Rapadagna, where Queen Prapril entrusts her with an urgent mission: to find and rescue the four spirits who protect this land. This mission is more pressing than it sounds, as each passing moment brings the brightly-colored fantasy Asha lives in a little closer to despair and destruction. Fortunately, Asha won’t be fighting alone. At her side is her faithful friend Pepelogoo, a spherical blue creature that allows Asha to glide, absorbs fireballs, and can help solve all manner of puzzles. If there’s an MVP in this game, it’s definitely Pepelogoo. We could all use a friend like him.
Between its polished graphics and grueling, old-fashioned gameplay, Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World is a very solid title. Its main drawback is simply that it’s rather short, but as the game has plenty of replay value, even that isn’t too much of a problem. Any fan of classic side-scrollers will probably have a great time with Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World, so if you didn’t already pick it up, now is the time to fix that.
Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World is currently available for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. It will be available for PC on June 29th, 2021 worldwide.
