Well, we didn’t have to wait too long between the announcement of the latest installment of the Phantasy Star Online series and its launch – Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is now available to download on PC and Xbox One. Taking place a thousand years after the events of Phantasy Star Online 2, New Genesis introduces players to the brand new world of Halpha, a world contested between the ARKS soldiers of the Oracle fleet and the mysterious DOLLS.
New Genesis promises a wide range of new features and improvements on Phantasy Star Online 2 that are sure to catch the attention of fans and new players alike – in particular, developers SEGA have revealed that this year’s closed beta saw massively positive feedback for the new ‘team’ system, allowing players to take on foes together in groups of up to 32. A brand-new, completely redesigned graphics engine promises to let players view the Phantasy Star universe in a dazzling new light, comparable with next-gen consoles. Of course, with any MMORPG character creation is a huge draw, and New Genesis is no exception. The character creation system from Phantasy Star Online 2 has been completely overhauled, giving players a much more powerful engine to work with.
