You Can Finally Take Pics While You Calibrate
Mass Effect: Legendary Edition promises to bring a whole new level of visual flair to the beloved–well, mostly beloved–trilogy of classic sci-fi games, but more importantly, it’s giving us a photo mode to play with. Mac Walters, project director of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, has confirmed its inclusion on Twitter. At this point, including a photo mode has become industry standard, but this will be the first time a Mass Effect game sports this much-demanded feature. Finally, we can all take as many pretty pictures of iconic and scenic locations like the Citadel, Virmire, Ilium, and Eden Prime as we want. Or you can simply take many pictures of Garrus and Tali doing their thing, if you prefer. We won’t judge.
We were just calibrating, but #MassEffect Legendary Edition will have a photo mode. https://t.co/QghTqwS4Ah pic.twitter.com/tfNKcgyplu

Legendary Edition’s goal is to bring the original Mass Effect games up to par with the modern gaming climate. Time waits for no one, after all, and let’s be honest here–the old games haven’t aged that well. The result will be a remaster that leaves the storyline unchanged but provides some much-needed gameplay buffs. Most of the changes will be focused on the first game, since it’s the one that needs updating the most.
If you’ve been missing the Mass Effect universe, then this is your chance to revisit old haunts and old friends without outdated game mechanics driving you batty. And hey, while you’re there, why not take a selfie?
Take an in-depth look at the visual upgrades you’ll experience when #MassEffect Legendary Edition launches May 14.
