MLB The Show 21 Jackie Robinson Edition Sales to Fund Scholarship

Out of the Park

Earlier this week, we got a look at MLB The Show 21 and its series debut on Xbox. Since then, PlayStation has officially revealed information on the Collector’s Edition, which honors baseball legend Jackie Robinson. They have also announced that $1 from every copy of MLB The Show 21 Jackie Robinson Edition will go toward the Jackie Robinson Foundation’s Scholars Program “to help reduce the achievement gap in higher education.” That would not be the only reason fans should grab this edition. There are a bunch of bonus items that come with it, both physical and digital.

We saw that pre-ordering the standard edition would get players 5,000 Stubs. The Jackie Robinson Edition is a little confusing. There is the Jackie Robinson Edition, the Digital Deluxe Edition, and the Physical Deluxe Edition, all of which feature Jackie Robinson on the cover and different variations in content. The (for lack of a better word) standard Jackie Robinson Edition comes with the physical PS4 or Xbox One disc, a next-gen code, 4 day early access, 1 Diamond Choice Pack, 2 Gold Choice Packs, 10 The Show Packs, 1 Ballplayer Equipment Pack, Double Dailies, 10,000 Stubs, and a steelbook.

The Physical Deluxe Edition comes with all of the above, plus a The Show baseball cap, a Digital New Era Hat, immediate access to the Jackie Robinson Bat Skin, and 15,000 extra Stubs. The Digital Deluxe Edition does not come with any physical items. Instead it comes with another Diamond Choice Pack, 3 more Gold Choice Packs, and the 15,000 extra Stubs. Here’s a reminder: players cannot get both a Xbox One and Xbox Series X or PS4 and PS5 copy with the standard edition. For a free upgrade, they must get one of the above editions. MLB The Show 21 comes out on April 20th for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, and is available for pre-order now.
