Nioh 2 is Absolutely Stunning on PS5

A 14-Minute Long Gameplay Video Just Dropped and It’s Gorgeous

Team Ninja is hard at work on The Nioh Collection and Nioh 2 – Complete Edition, and judging by this 14-minute gameplay video they just shared of Nioh 2 running on the PS5, development is going well. Just look at that fluid animation! Those saturated colors! That luminous moon! And the wide variety of bloodthirsty yokai that will stand in your way, of course. Can’t forget about them. The haunted battlefields of Sengoku-era Japan have never been more beautiful–or more dangerous. Plus, the new editions bring all-new multiplayer options, so you can play with friends.

“All of the titles available on PlayStation 5 will support 4K resolution for crystal clear visuals, up to 120 FPS gameplay for silky smooth combat, ultra-fast load times and the ability to transfer your data from the PS4 versions to pick up your journey right where you left off,” Team Ninja reports, which sounds fantastic to us. Whether you’re a returning Nioh player or just dipping your toe into the series, these remasters will be a great place to start. Nioh – The Complete Edition and Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition contain the original games, plus all the DLC released for them, and The Nioh Collection bundles all of that into one big package.

The same blog post confirms that anyone who owns the PS4 version of Nioh 2 can upgrade to the PS5 remastered version for free, plus any DLC they bought. However, you won’t be able to buy the remastered version separately–it can only be purchased as part of the Complete Edition. The series will be laid to rest for a while after these new editions come out, so get your Nioh fix while you can. Team Ninja has a lot of projects to juggle in the near future, and while they may come back to Nioh eventually, it’ll be a while before they return.

Nioh 2 DLC

Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition will be available for PC, PS4, and PS5 on February 4th, 2021.
