Hitman 3 Launching on Stadia With State Share

State Share Finally Coming to Google Stadia

IO Interactive has officially confirmed that Hitman 3 will be launching on Google Stadia with State Share, a long-promised feature for the cloud gaming platform. Google has been promising the State Share feature since before the launch of Google Stadia, but Hitman 3 will be the first game to feature it when it releases on January 20th. Hitman 2 is available right now for Xbox One, PS4, Google Stadia, and PC.

When State Share launches later this month on Google Stadia, it will be enabled on other titles on the platform, including the existing Hitman titles. IO Interactive has designed the Hitman games to utilize State Share to allow all saved game states to include mission starting location within the beginning of the level, mission objectives, player loadout (including weapon, gear, and clothing), and mission difficulty.

Google Stadia gamers who play Hitman 3 utilizing the State Share feature will be able to play the game with weapons and gear they haven’t unlocked yet, giving them an edge over players on other platforms. Considering the State Share feature is launching with Hitman 3, it’ll be interesting to see how many existing games on Google Stadia get the feature, and which upcoming releases will find ways to implement the feature as well. IO Interactive has officially confirmed the first two Hitman games will get the feature upon the release of Hitman 3.
