We’ll Be Getting News From HBO’s The Last of Us Writer Soon

Unfortunately, the 7 Days Tweet Was About Biden’s Inauguration

Recently, HBO’s The Last of Us writer Craig Mazin posted a very cryptic tweet: a gif that simply said “7 days.” Neil Druckmann liked it and the entire fanbase just about lost their minds. Sadly, Mazin has since clarified that the tweet was referring to Biden’s inauguration, not news about TLOU TV, but he has promised to bring us some “modest news” soon to make up for the misunderstanding. “There will be some modest TLOU news soon enough. We are hard at work writing and… you know… other stuff,” he said in his post. “But my 7 days tweet was about a small, approaching change in American governance.”

The show will be following the first TLOU game, which means we’ll be traveling across the US with Joel and Ellie one more time. We can’t wait to see what Mazin is planning to show us, but we might have to, because Mazin is a busy guy right now. He’s not just working on TLOU HBO–he’s juggling writing Eli Roth’s Borderlands movie, which is due to begin shooting this year, and a currently unnamed Pirates of the Caribbean project. In other words, he’s got a lot on his plate, so we’ll understand if unveiling this “modest news” takes a while.

Personally, we’re hoping to see some casting, but we’ll accept anything up to and including pictures of the Clicker make-up. Please. We just wanna see the cordyceps zombies. Give us the cool monsters!
