Resident Evil Village Actress, Jeanette Maus Dies at Aged 39

RIP Jeanette Maus

Capcom has left us with sad news today as they announced the passing of actress, Jeanette Maus. Maus has donned many roles in her career, and is particularly known for her contribution as one of the witches in the upcoming Capcom title, Resident Evil Village.

Capcom publicly paid tribute to the Resident Evil actress on their Twitter page last night.

“We here at Capcom R&D 1 are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Jeanette Maus, the talented actress who helped bring several different characters, including our witches to the world in Resident Evil Village. Our hearts go out to her family and loved ones.”

Although Capcom only made the announcement of her passing yesterday, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter that came out on Wednesday, Maus passed away on Sunday, January 24, following an 8 month battle with colon cancer.

While Maus struggled with her fight against colon cancer, she also lived with Crohn’s Disease and even contracted COVID-19 at one point last year, according to a GoFundMe page set-up for Maus by her fiancé, Dusty Warren.

In addition to her work as an actress, Maus taught acting classes for youth at the John Rosenfeld Studios in West Hollywood. The studio posted a heartful tribute to Maus on their Instagram page.

“Jeanette was truly an artist, and felt truly grateful to live as an artist. She had an indomitable spirit and was hungry to be the best person, the best teacher, the best friend and the best actor she could be. The world lost a force of nature and we will be feeling that for a long time.”

Maus acting credits include last year’s Charm City Kings, 2017’s Dismissed, and 2011’s Your Sister’s Sister. Along with Resident Evil Village, Maus has worked on several titles set to release in 2021.

Our condolences to Maus’s fiancé, family, friends, and co-workers at both the John Rosenfeld Studios and Capcom. Her loss is tragic, but her talent will be continued to be enjoyed for years to come.
