Smash Bros. Ultimate Tournament Taking Place on Christmas Day

Festive Fighting

December 25th is a date of significant import for many people, but regardless of whether you celebrate Christmas or not, everyone knows that it practically puts a hold on the world. However, for those who do not celebrate, they still need a way to pass the time. Under normal circumstances, people could go to a movie theater, but not in 2020. Video games have been there for us in these trying times and they will continue to do so. If you’re a Smash Bros. Ultimate player, you will be able to participate in a special tournament tomorrow.

Sephiroth Smash Bros. Ultimate

The Christmas Day tournament is not really a Christmas tournament per se, it just takes place on the day. It’s called Dark Reunion, which is actually what I call family gatherings that break COVID-19 guidelines. Dark Reunion is a tournament meant to bring out all the new Sephiroth players. In Final Fantasy: Advent Children, the villains were trying to bring about the “Reunion”, which meant the return of Sephiroth. A fitting title for the tournament, now that Sephiroth has joined Smash Bros., huh? Now that players have had a chance to play around with him, we can expect to see him in One-Winged action.

The Dark Reunion tournament will run from December 25th to December 27th, so that even if you are occupied during Christmas Day, you will still be able to participate. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
