Persona 5 Strikers Accidentally Announced for February 2021

What Goes up, Apparently Must Get Taken Back Down

Altus has finally announced a western release date for Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikes which will simply be known as Persona 5 Strikers in the localization. Fans can expect the game soon as it has now been confirmed to be releasing on February 23, 2021.

Late last night a new trailer for the English version of the game went up online, however, it was quickly taken down again. While the trailer was only up for a mere 10 minutes, it was enough time for fans to get the main information they wanted–a release date. The game will be released on February 23, 2021 for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC.

Persona 5 Strikers is an upcoming spin-off of the hit RPG, Persona 5/Persona 5 Royal. The game is a crossover between Koei Tecmo’s Dynasty Warriors and Atlus’s Persona franchises, and is set six months after the events of Persona 5. Gameplay resembles a traditional warriors games, tasking players to hack and slash their way through hordes of enemies as opposed to Persona’s slower, turn-based combat.

While we don’t have access to the trailer that was taken down last night, you can find the original Japanese release date trailer right here.

It isn’t known why the trailer was uploaded last night or when we will see it again, but it’s likely going to be uploaded in the near future. The Game Awards on December 10 is a very likely candidate as to when we will see it premiere properly.

Next year is Persona’s 25th Anniversary and the development has already teased exciting plans for the year. We already knew Persona 5 Strikers was on the way so it was only a matter of when, that said, who knows what else the team has planned for the monumental anniversary!
