Black Ops Cold War Season One Release Delayed to December 16

The Additional Content for Cold War and Warzone Will Be a Bit Later Than Expected

Season One is set to add a variety of new content to both the recently released Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War, and the free to play, Call of Duty: Warzone.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War

The first seasonal update was set to release on December 10, but is unfortunately being pushed back to December 16. However, things aren’t all bad for Call of Duty fans excited for the update.

As a nice little thank you for the player’s patience in spite of the delay, Cold War developer, Treyarch, is offering Double XP and Double Weapon XP in Black Ops Cold War from 10AM PT Saturday, Dec. 12 until the launch of Season One on December 16. That is four whole full days to do some serious level grinding before the new content releases!

Season One is a rather larger expansion that includes new operators, weapons, player progression, and Battle Pass rewards. The best part is, the update is free!

Black Ops Cold War players will also be able to take advantage of two new free bundles that will soon be available in a special pre-season offer. This pre-season can be claimed by logging in between 10:00 am PT on Dec. 8, and 11:00 pm PT on December 15–the day before the new season drops.

The two free bundles include the following:

“Field Research” Bundle

  •  1 Epic Operator Skin (Park)
  •  1 Epic SMG Weapon Blueprint
  • 1 Epic Reticle
  • 1 Epic Calling Card
  • 1 Rare Weapon Charm

“Certified” Bundle

  •  1 Epic Operator Skin (Garcia)
  • 1 Rare Assault Rifle Weapon Blueprint
  • 1 Epic Reticle
  • 1 Epic Weapon Charm

Get excited for new maps, new 6v6 modes, new zombie modes, and more. Not all the details surrounding Season One are available yet, but for all the intel on what we do know so far, you can check out the Black Ops blog right here.

Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
