Spoiler: You Know Them
Marvel’s Avengers got off to a rocky start, what with the bugs at launch, the content’s lack in variance, and then it suffered some delays for new characters. Earlier this month, Crystal Dynamics added their first additional character Kate Bishop AKA Hawkeye. Does this new content fix the repetitiveness of the game? No, but you can trust you ol’ pal Zane; she is fun to play as. Her story campaign is also pretty good, if you care about it. The story does in fact build up to something bigger and ends on a cliffhanger, which opens up the door to the next Marvel’s Avengers DLC characters.
If you have even been watching the trailers, you know that Kate’s mentor and original Hawkeye, Clint Barton is very involved in this new story. He is working with AIM (under duress) and goes to the future. Kate’s story ends with rescuing Clint from the future, but he returns with a warning of an upcoming threat. So, Clint is back with the Avengers, which suggests that he will be the next DLC character. Having two Hawkeyes back to back might get a little stale, but hopefully Crystal Dynamics makes Clint and Kate’s skill different enough that they will be interesting.
There is also the matter of Black Panther. We know from datamines, teasers, and in-game dialogue that he will be added. There is also a rumor going around that God of War voice actor Christopher Judge will be playing King T’Challa in Marvel’s Avengers. Hopefully, Black Panther and Hawkeye will be made available to players sooner than later. Marvel’s Avengers is available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia, with versions coming up for PS5 and Xbox Series X.
