Time’s Running Out on the Free Borderlands 2 DLC for Nintendo Switch

Borderlands 2: Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary Free for Nintendo Switch Until Tomorrow

Borderlands has been an extremely popular franchise since the first game’s release in 2009. Despite Borderlands 3 being the latest release in the series, one that is still seeing frequent new paid DLC and free content updates, Borderlands 2 is still widely considered to be the best entry in the series. To bridge the gap between Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3 before the latter’s release last year, developer Gearbox Software released a new add-on for Borderlands 2 called Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary.

Borderlands 2: Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary is currently being offered for free for owners of the Nintendo Switch version of the Borderlands 2 (included in the Borderlands Legacy Collection, and Borderlands Handsome Collection). However, this offer is limited time only and will no longer be available after tomorrow.

As I mentioned earlier, to take advantage of this offer you need to have Borderlands 2 on Nintendo Switch. For those who bought the physical edition of the Borderlands Legacy Collection, you have to redeem the code to claim the Handsome Collection by entering it in the Switch’s eShop. After that, open the eShop page for the Borderlands Handsome Collection and you will see the Commander Lilith DLC listed there. Proceed to “purchase” the DLC like you would any other game or DLC and you will check it out for the low low cost of $0.

If you haven’t picked up the Borderlands Handsome Collection which includes Borderlands 2, Borderlands the Pre-sequel, and all DLC for the two (aside from the Commander Lilith pack), it is currently on sale on the eShop, but that sale is ending tomorrow, so make sure to pick it up fast if you want it in time to redeem the free DLC.

The Commander Lilith & Fight for Sanctuary DLC was also free for other systems for a limited time when it first launched. Although it was met with pretty negative reviews, it is still worth checking out for fans of the series.
