Steam Gamers Are Hyped for Cyberpunk 2077
According to a recent tweet from Senior Analyst at Niko Partners Daniel Ahmad, Cyberpunk 2077 is already selling quite well on Valve’s Steam client. Pre-orders for the upcoming CD Projekt Red game sold better than Hades, Red Dead Redemption, and even the Valve Index VR Kit. Considering Cyberpunk 2077 is a mere week away from launch, it isn’t a shock to see it being pre-ordered well, but already being number one ahead of release is impressive. Cyberpunk 2077 is releasing for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, PC, and Google Stadia on December 10th.
The following games are the top ten Steam sellers in order of revenue from last week according to Daniel Ahmad:
1. Cyberpunk 2077 (Pre-Order)
2. Valve Index VR Kit
3. Football Manager 2021
4. Phasmophobia
5. Hades
6. Red Dead Redemption 2
7. Halo: MCC
8. PUBG
10. Doom Eternal
While Hades is a recent top tier banger, and the Valve Index VR Kit is essential for people with a Valve Index VR, it’s likely that Cyberpunk 2077 will make waves across the industry when it releases next week. During the successful sales week for Cyberpunk 2077 pre-orders, Steam was in the midst of its annual Autumn sale, so it’s likely that a lot of people who pre-ordered the upcoming CD Projekt Red title were eyeballing some other games while they were on the Shop.
After receiving multiple delays to polish the game, CD Projekt Red is finally releasing Cyberpunk 2077 next week and if Steam pre-orders are anything to go by, it’s going to be a big hit right out the gate. We’re curious to see if it holds the longevity and dedicated fan support that CD Projekt Red garnered with The Witcher 3.
