Back 4 Blood Gameplay Demoed at the Game Awards

Looks Very Familiar

It’s called the Game Awards, but I think we’re all watching for the announcements and premiers. One of the big announcements was the return of not-Left 4 Dead. The developers behind the two Left 4 Dead games are continuing their work of making super fun zombie-killing games. Last night, they unveiled a Back 4 Blood gameplay trailer, and it brings back so many memories and makes us really look forward to what’s coming. It wasn’t too long ago that we were only being shown concept art. It looks like exactly what we would want from a Left 4 Dead 3; familiar style, but with modern updates. *Chef’s kiss*

Back 4 Blood Gameplay

So much of what we are shown screams Left 4 Dead, and that’s not a bad thing at all. The gameplay starts in a safe room. There’s writing on the wall, supplies, and a reinforced door you can shoot through, just like we remember. From there, the players run down a fairly linear path, fighting off zombies and the occasional special zombie. The special zombies are not quite the ones from Left 4 Dead, but we see the inspiration. There is a bulky one that explodes when shot, one with a giant arm, and a nigh unstoppable one that we can only describe as a Tank.

After a short demo, we are shown a sequence that resembles more of a gameplay trailer. Not only that, but the closed alpha begins next week! Sign up now! The full game is also set to launch kind of soon, in about six months time. Back 4 Blood is expected to release on June 22nd, 2021 for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, and PS5.
