How to Transfer Your Cyberpunk 2077 Save to Next-Gen Consoles

Cross-Gen Saves Have Never Been So Simpleโ€“On Xbox, Anyway

Cyberpunk 2077โ€˜s release date is getting closer as we speak, but that only applies to the PC and current generation of consoles. For those of you holding out for the Xbox Series S|X and PS5 editions: youโ€™re safe, keep on doing what youโ€™re doing. Those of you who are planning to upgrade to next-gen consoles in the middle of a playthrough have some obstacles in your path. But never fear, CD Projekt Red has taken a break from forcing other games to be delayed and talking about nudity toggles to release some helpful information about how cross-gen saves will work for Cyberpunk 2077.

Weโ€™ll start with the easy stuff: Xbox. Upgrading on this version will be incredibly simple on account of Microsoft already being pretty good at cloud services and Smart Delivery. Just make sure youโ€™re connected to the internet and your save data will automatically be uploaded to the cloud. If thatโ€™s not enough for some reason, make sure that both consoles are on the same network and use the system network transfer option. Boom. Youโ€™re back in Night City, looking (and playing) better than ever.

PlayStation users will have a bit more work ahead of them. There are three different options for you: connect to your PS Plus account and upload your saves to cloud storage, transfer the data over LAN cable or WiFi, or use a compatible storage device to copy and transfer the data to your account on PS5. Okay, that was way more straightforward than we expected. Looks like we were making a mountain out of a molehill. Happy gaming, and donโ€™t be afraid to upgrade!

Cyberpunk 2077 will release on December 10th, 2020, for PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Stadia. It will also be playable on Xbox Series X|S and PS5. A free next-gen upgrade will become available for owners of the Xbox One and PS4 versions respectively at a later date.
