Avert Your Innocent Eyes!
Only twelve more sleeps until Cyberpunk 2077 comes out. It will certainly be a thing to behold, but will you want to see all of it? Probably yes, but there are instances where you might not want there to be something on-screen at a certain point. Like maybe your kid walks in while you’re playing; you might not want there to be a screen full of titties. Or maybe you’re streaming; you might not want there to be a screen full of titties. For times like that, CDPR has apparently implemented a censorship control for players.
A fan tweeted at one of the developers asking if there will be a no nudity or censor mode, to which the developer answered “Yes.” I guess it’s as simple as that. Probably like some games can toggle blood on or off, maybe there will be a option to begin the game with it enabled or a menu option. The question is what it will look like? Will it be like Japanese porn where all the important stuff is pixelated or like in the vanilla version of House Party where a big CENSORED bar constantly follows boobs and dicks around?
The big four of censorship in video games are blood, profanity, drugs, and nudity. Cyberpunk 2077 is bound to have it all. The game will actually have sex scenes from a first person perspective as well. The fact that there is a setting for nudity and probably nothing else also speaks to what developers, gamers, and the community deems the most offensive or inappropriate. Cyberpunk 2077 comes out on December 10th for PC, Stadia, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
