Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course DLC Delayed to 2021

Cuphead Fans Will Have to Wait Until Next Year For the DLC Expansion

Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course is becoming the Cyberpunk 2077 of downloadable content, and I don’t mean that in a good way. The extra story content was originally slated to be released in 2019, just two years after the indie game’s original release on Xbox One and PC. Late last year we got the announcement that The Delicious Last Course DLC would instead be releasing this year. Unfortunately, that is no longer true.

Developer Studio MDHR made the announcement earlier this week that the release of the highly anticipated DLC is being pushed back to next year, marking the game’s second major delay.

Studio MDHR founders Chad & Jared Moldenhauer shared a statement on the studio’s official Twitter page.

“In true Studio MDHR fashion, we aren’t content for this final chapter to be anything less than our best work”.

The statement also clarifies that restrictions and challenges arising from the COVID-19 pandemic has made the process increasingly more difficult, and has forced them to make the difficult decision to delay the game’s release to next year.

“Rather than compromise our vision in response to COVID, we’ve made the difficult decision to push back the release of The Delicious Last Course until we are confident that it will delight the Cuphead community the way we feel it should”.

While existing Cuphead fans may be saddened by the news that they won’t be able to play as Ms. Chalice just yet, this does mean there’s even more time for new players to check out the original game. Cuphead is currently on sale on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, which it just released on this summer.
